By using The Plant Identifier you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it. No account is required, so there is nothing to sign and nothing to cancel.

This is the part that matters. An identification is a machine's best guess from a photograph. It is offered as information, not as professional, botanical, medical, or veterinary advice, and it carries no guarantee of accuracy.

Do not eat a plant, apply it to skin, brew it, or give it to an animal on the strength of a result from this site. Many edible plants have dangerous lookalikes, and photographs frequently cannot separate them. Confirm with a qualified expert first, every time.

If a person or animal has eaten an unknown plant, contact a doctor, a veterinarian, or a poison control service immediately rather than relying on any website.

The problem checker suggests likely causes based on visible symptoms. It cannot examine roots, soil, or growing conditions, and diagnosis from a photograph is genuinely uncertain. Any action you take on your plants is your decision and your risk.

You must have the right to upload the photos you submit. You keep ownership of them — we do not claim any rights over your images, and we do not store them. What happens to an upload is described in the privacy policy, including the fact that it is sent to a third-party identification service.

Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything that is not a photograph of a plant.

The service is free and its capacity is finite. Please do not:

• Automate requests, scrape the site, or run it as a backend for another service.
• Attempt to circumvent the per-session limits.
• Use the site in a way that degrades it for other people.

Rate limits exist so that one heavy user cannot exhaust the service for everyone else.

The site is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime or of continued availability. It depends on third-party services that may change their terms, their pricing, or their availability without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its results — including harm to plants, people, or animals following an incorrect identification or suggestion.

Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page changes when they are. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
